Paths of Beaufort

On our recent walking tour, I had the opportunity to photograph the paths and roads of the Old Point in Beaufort, SC. They take many forms and have a variety of destinations. They are made of various materials - stone, coquina, brick...
A long driveway to a safe haven
This path leads to a stately urn
Some paths seem like a walk in the park
A garden path well worn
A low hanging branch of an old oak
Moss covered trees line this road
A destination with a beautiful view of the water
Gardens surround many of the paths...
and invite people in!
"Pursue some path however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk in love and reverence." (Henry David Thoreau)

Thanks for the tour!! Our normal guide appears to be a bit distracted at the moment.

This has brought back a lovely memory. Years ago I had to fly from
Miami to Beaufort,SC. I was in
Beaufort in the mid 70's to
sign a sale on my North Carolina
Resort hotel/ Inn.
The houses on the beach drive were so old and historic.. It was beautiful. All that Moss hanging
is wonderful. yvonne

It seems like Beaufort is so picturesque from any angle! What beautiful shots of some amazing paths. I love the trees that overhang the street. There aren't many areas near me that have such an allure. Now I know for sure that I must travel south in the future to visit such a unique and lush part of the country!
